Harbor is currently seeking a full-time

Patient Access Specialist

to assist, engage, and screen potential and on-going clients to determine appropriate services while executing exceptional customer service skills Assess the need for Crisis Intervention, and schedule appointments appropriately on computerized schedule.

Position is full-time, 40 hours per week.

Requirements:

An Associate’s degree in business or closely related field, preferred. May substitute previous experience in medical/mental health administrative support services in lieu of associate’s degreePrevious data entry experience is required.Excellent customer service skills required; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of people and be a team player.Flexibility, ability to multi-task 3 or more tasks simultaneously, and excellent organizational skills also requiredAbility to adhere to strict client confidentiality standards and policiesMust be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Outlook and Word.Job Duties:

Delivers excellent customer service in the manner prescribed by the company's customer service standards and takes appropriate action as necessary to clearly understand and resolve client needs on first call, whenever possible.Answers all calls in a professional, engaging, warm, courteous, and efficient manner in accordance with organization’s Vision with regards to service excellence efforts. Transfers calls or takes accurate written messages for proper and prompt delivery, when necessary.Engages all callers and follows call through to completion scheduling into electronic health record including new appointments, hospital discharge appointments, follow-up appointments, cancellations, referrals and rescheduling.Obtains and enters into computer system the admission information during initial and on-going client contact according to Harbor policy.Receives and completes all necessary follow-up including scheduling of all referrals assigned.Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrates continued growth.Recognize and respond appropriately to crisis situations by referring to a clinical therapist, a manager, Rescue Mental Health, or police emergency services.Attends support staff and other meetings as appropriate and serves on office committees as assigned.Work from any assigned location.Assist in the training of co-workers, students and volunteers in admission procedures.Verify Medicaid insurances and work in various programs to verify private insurances and direct clients who may need additional funding through the Board of Mental Health.About Harbor:
