Responsibilities
The Analyst, Asset Manager will be an integral part of the Asset Management Team ("AM Team") responsible for executing the business plan for a portfolio of affordable multi-family assets owned by Related Affordable. This role will support the Lead Asset Manager in various tasks related to assessing market conditions, operations, property conditions, staffing, compliance, capital expenditures, rent collection, and leasing opportunities at each property within the portfolio. The Asset Manager will report to the Lead Asset Manager and work closely with the Portfolio Management Team.
This position will be onsite 5 days a week.Core responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:Work closely with the Portfolio Management Team to contribute to standard reporting packages, such as budget variance reports and site inspection reportsConduct periodic inspections of all assets in sub-portfolio with particular attention to any troubled assetsAssist in identifying and escalating significant issues to the Lead Asset Manager and the Portfolio Management TeamAttend weekly asset management calls to learn and contribute to discussions on best practicesParticipate in regular portfolio management meetings that are relevant to assigned propertiesContribute to the annual property budgeting process for assigned propertiesAssist in preparing the Quarterly Asset Management ReportCollaborate with the Portfolio Management Team to update property databasesAssist in improving the financial reporting/reforecasting process and toolsWork with the Portfolio Management Team and Property Management to support the implementation of a new property onboarding processPartner with the Portfolio Management Team to maximize Section 8 contract rents for the sub-portfolioSupport budget-based rent increase requests as neededCollaborate with the NOI/Procurement Team to review operations, procedures, and spending to identify opportunities for implementing best practices
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate, preferably with an owner, lender, manager, syndicator, agency, or real estate consulting groupBS/BA degree preferred requiredBasic knowledge of finance, operations, and accounting principles in commercial real estate, with a willingness to learn; Affordable Housing knowledge is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailDemonstrated eagerness to learn, contribute, and grow within the teamAbility to collaborate effectively with property management and ownership teamsA diplomatic and assertive approach, coupled with self-motivationCuriosity and a willingness to explore new approaches and solutionsMust have the flexibility to travel to propertiesRelated values diversity in backgrounds and experiences.
