Mine Vision Systems (MVS) is dedicated to providing advanced workflow-integrated perception and automation systems which improve speed, safety and productivity for the mining industry. We are a spinout from Carnegie Mellon University's National Robotics Engineering Center, and are located in Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood. Following the successful product launch of our FaceCapture™ Mapping System, we are in a growth mode and we are seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to join our team.

As a Frontend Software Engineer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, simulating, testing, and iteratively refining user interfaces for integrated robotic systems used in mining applications. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Design and implement a robust and responsive frontend architecture to facilitate creating clear and engaging user interfaces.Rigorously test and validate solutions under a wide range of real-world conditions and customer processes.Collaborate with fellow engineers and product management on design changes.Troubleshoot and debug application in response to customer support calls.Monitor and improve front-end performance.Willingness to learn new skills and develop some familiarity with the work of the other engineers, which will be useful for code review and group discussion. This includes the ability to evaluate new features and estimate effort during sprint planningTravel up to 5% to work sites beyond the corporate officeSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with the design, development, testing, and support of scalable JavaScript applications deployed to productionExperience building UI solutions using JavaScript and TypeScriptExperience with React, Next.js, Angular, Vue or similar libraries/frameworksExperience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and/or similar databases.Familiarity with SQLExperience working independently and as part of an agile teamStrong communication skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to deliver best-in-class software productsComfortable with Git and/or other version control workflows.Experience with LinuxExperience with graphics & visualization libraries such as D3 or ThreeJS preferredExperience writing OpenGl/WebGl shaders, a nice to haveExperience with UI performance measurement and optimization preferredKnowledge of Python preferredKnowledge of professional software engineering practices for full software development life cycle including task breakdown, scheduling, unit testing, code reviews, documentation, and version controlHigh initiative, seeking continuous improvement, actively engaged in problem solvingExcellent analysis, prioritization, decision-making, and implementation skills with a high level of personal responsibilityBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics or related fieldDemonstrated related experience may be substituted for preferred educationBENEFITS WE OFFER:
