PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled Principal Software Engineer to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader in Minneapolis, MN. This is an initial 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.Job DescriptionCreates, plans, and performs a variety of software analysis, architecture, design, development, code, documentation, integration, test and product assurance tasks. Contributes to the development of engineering design models and develops programs to enhance, implement and support project/system functionality for the assigned technical effort. Ensures technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that customer and company technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met.RequirementsC++ programmingLinux/Unix Operating SystemsExperience with version control and issue tracking toolsReal-time embedded software development experienceObject Oriented software design experienceExceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are a MUSTUML modeling, experience with a UML modeling toolFamiliarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplinesAbility to solve complex technical design and development problemsAbility to develop and maintain effective relationships and collaborate to solve technical problemsAbility to obtain a security clearance (SECRET)US CitizenshipDesired:Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standardsFamiliarity with weapon systems, munitions, and/or combat vehicle functionality and capabilityExperience with Git, bitbucket, and JIRAObject Oriented software architecture experienceExperience integrating software with various real-time operating systems such as vxWorks, LynxOS, ThreadXExperience decomposing software requirements and tracing to their system/component level parent requirementsExperience working collaboratively with safety engineers to develop safety-related and/or safety-critical softwareExperience / familiarity with MagicDraw / Cameo modeling toolFamiliarity with Risk Management FrameworkCybersecurity awareness (a DoD recognized cybersecurity certification would be ideal)Experience using DOORS or other requirements management toolFamiliarity with CMMI for developmentExperience developing software documentation for US DoD in accordance with requirements specified in DIDsAbility to work with minimal supervisionActive (or lapsed) SECRET clearance (with ability to reactivate)Job ID:
