One of our clients in Los Angeles, California is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with the following skills and experience:
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software test development, particularly in server-side and database testing environments. As a key member of the scrum teams, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams to support product development through agile methodologies.
Basic Qualifications:Minimum of 6 years of hands-on software test development experience, including both functional and non-functional test development.Proficiency with Python or other object-oriented programming languages. -
MUST HAVEStrong knowledge of software engineering practices and agile approaches.Experience building or improving test automation frameworks.Proficiency in CI/CD integration and pipeline development using tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar.Proficiency in Big Data testing methodologies.Experience with Gherkin for BDD/TDD practices.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/work experience.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and maintainable test automation frameworks using Python, ensuring high test coverage and reliability.Design, implement, and execute functional and non-functional tests, focusing on server-side and database testing to ensure product quality and reliability.Collaborate with engineering teams to understand requirements and implement effective testing strategies within 2- or 3-week sprints.Drive best practices in the testing space, including continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) integration, pipeline development, and automation.Conduct Big Data testing to validate data integrity, accuracy, and performance.Utilize RESTful API testing techniques to validate API functionality and integration.Write SQL queries to perform database testing, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.Participate in BDD/TDD practices using Gherkin to enhance test coverage and clarity.Take ownership of challenges and proactively contribute to team objectives while maintaining a collaborative mindset.Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent degree/work experience.
