Job Description

The Director, Business Development is a key, hands-on, sales role within the BEUMER Group Airport Division and is responsible for surveying the airport market and generating external customer sales.Role PurposeYou will engage with airports, airlines, general contractors, consultants and other key stakeholders to form winning partnerships to grow our airport business in North America.In the role of business development, you will engage with perspective customers to understand their requirements, work with the management team to establish winning strategies for target identified projects and collaborate closely with our systems design team on perspective projects during the concept phase.ResponsibilitiesDevelop a sales plan to target key airports and grow a sales pipeline.Have an overview on when airports are planning to engage capital projects.Present status on sales activities to internal stakeholders.Host sales approval meetings throughout the sales lifecycle; highlighting activities from development to close.Provide timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.Work in close collaboration with BEUMER Group's Airport Headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark.Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.Interface with all internal departments (Finance, Operations, Customer Support, and Executives).Work closely with Marketing to provide market intelligence and content.Manage, perform, and coordinate the following business development activities:

Gathering and analyzing of customer requirements.Design and development of solutions.Demonstration and presentation of solutions.Proposal creation.Technical writing (proposals, scope documents, process flows).Develop tools and aid in process development.Attend conference calls and on-site meetings with clients.Transitioning a proposal to an order.

May be assigned special projects or additional tasks.

Qualifications

Requirements / Skills / AbilitiesRequired:5+ years of experience in sales management providing turnkey automated system solutions.Excel in all aspects of sales.Extremely strong presentation and communication skills.Excellent knowledge of all aspects of baggage handling, including TSA, Controls, and conveying technology.Very strong technical, mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent listening skills resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction. Must be able to listen for opportunities as well as potential technical hurdles.Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.Proven leadership and ability to drive sales activities.Proven track record of business development success, resulting in new market penetration.Preferred:Direct, proven experience in:

System sales or system application engineering of automated sorting systems.Airport Baggage Handling Systems, airport design and construction.

Reporting/LocationThe Director, Business Development will be based in Denver, Colorado.Extensive travel to customer sites will be required.Periodic travel to Denmark will be required.The Director, Business Development will report to the Vice President and General Manager of the Airport Division. There will also be close alignment with the global Director, Business Development for airports.
