plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes within a manufacturing facility.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Develops processes, programs machine tools, evaluates changes, and improves manufacturing methods.Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure the use of efficient production methods.Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for the purchase of equipment, materials, and parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.Estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions.Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.Understands the use of CAD and CAM with a background in Solidworks, and/or Esprit.Inputs and corrects information concerning routings into the company database.Analyzes the drawings, sketches, and design data of parts to determine the dimensions and configurations of cuts, the selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.Performs duties on a project team and reports results to the team leader.Understands lean manufacturing principles. Critical lean principles are value stream map creation (present and future states), 5S, and Kaizen events.Writes process sheets and cutter lists to guide the setup and operation of machines.Writes programs using a programming system (Esprit) that contains machine code to effectively machine parts in a machine tool.Reads machine programs to validate that the machine moves are to the correct machine location.Observes the operation of any machines operating on trial runs to prove taped or programmed instructions.Collaborates with others, is open-minded, responsive, and supportive of others' efforts to succeed.Demonstrates integrity by being dependable, having good judgment, being honest, and taking responsibility for their actions.Respectful of others, encouraging others to share their ideas, while actively listening to others and having common courtesy.Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Job Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent is required.Two-year machine technology degree from a college, university, or technical school preferred; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.CNC machining experience preferred.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of peers, clients and customers.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:Sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.Frequent computer work.Lift and move up to 40 lbs. occasionally.Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
