As a legal assistant, you will provide support to lawyers and paralegals in various legal tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of legal operations
You will be responsible for handling administrative, clerical, and research duties.

Responsibilities:

Legal Research and Document Preparation:
Conduct legal research using databases, libraries, and online resources.
Draft legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and subpoenas.
Assist in the preparation of legal documents for court filings and transactions.
Administrative Support:
Manage and organize legal documents, correspondence, and case files.
Schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings for attorneys.
Prepare and maintain calendars and deadlines.
Assist with billing, time tracking, and expense reports.
Client Communication:
Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties to schedule meetings and gather information.
Assist in drafting correspondence and emails to clients and other parties.
Case Management:
Assist in the management of case files, including filing, indexing, and retrieving documents.
Maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.
Legal Assistance:
Provide support during trials, hearings, and closings.
Coordinate with court personnel, process servers, and other legal professionals.
Prepare exhibits and other materials for presentations in court.
Legal Technology and Software:
Proficiently use legal software and tools for document management, research, and case management.
Maintain and update databases and case management systems.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field preferred.
Proven experience as a legal assistant or similar role.
Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

Certification as a paralegal or legal assistant.
Experience in a specific area of law (e.g., real estate, litigation, corporate law).
Fluency in multiple languages.
Experience with electronic filing systems (e.g., PACER).
