What you will do

We are looking for a skilled Solution Architect to join a team dedicated to adding business value to some of the strongest brands within the automotive and transportation industry.

As a Solution Architect, you will enable fantastic products. You will provide technical expertise and solutioning for multiple products. You will have a tight dialogue with stakeholders, teammates, and management in our different business areas, and with their inputs make recommendations based on best practices. In the role will collaborate and work with other global teams and external parties with a One Community mindset.

You will act as a bridge between the business stakeholders and the development team. You will be working in a social environment which requires you to be a communicative and an extrovert person with good abilities in building and maintaining strong relationships. You need to manage and help the development team, while displaying owner’s mentality. You will drive the work to continuously improve the team’s awareness on the overall architecture. You will work in tight dialogue with your manager to support the technical growth and development of the team members by proactively recommending training well before needed.

You will lead, plan, and report the ongoing work in relevant communities. You will contribute and drive architecture related topics in your teams and will be requested at times to present in the Streams and the Operations Committee.

In addition, we are on a Digital Transformation journey moving from a traditional project management model to a Scaled Agile Framework for the Enterprise (SAFe). In the SAFe model the Solution Architect has a significant role in the Scrum teams in translating requirements to technical design with business value in mind.

Main responsibilities:

• Work cohesively with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Test Specialists and Enterprise Architects during all product phases to specify infrastructure and software changes.

• Responsible for producing design artifacts including high-level and detailed design documents, database schemas, and system workflows.

• Communicate tasks to other developers, answer questions and clarify requirements by working with the Business Analysts and other stakeholders.

• As required by Product Owners to demonstrate why, how, and what tasks are required to produce the needed business solutions.

• Capable of careful consideration of the product objectives and combining the technical skills to produce a useful business solution and to assure successful system development and deployment

Who are you?

• 5+ years of experience as a Solution Architect

• Translate customer requirements and high-level architecture into detailed design for developers.

• Troubleshoot issues in the system, working with support team to discover root causes of incidents.

• Work with Quality Assurance team members to communicate primary and alternate process flows and system behavior.

• Assure application runtime environments stay current on supported software; develop mitigation plans to assure steady state of customer business systems.

• Provide guidance and guidelines of technical development environment, developer tools and operating systems.

• Establish and enforce consistent use development standards, design models, code reuse.

• Assure system and technical solutions are made part of the long-term strategic development plan, both locally and globally.

• Work with Scrum teams to:

o Establish test and development environment

o Code and unit test technical components

o Define Operational Review

o Establish system performance criteria

o Perform code reviews

• Work with Product Owners to estimate work effort and break down tasks.

• Work with Enterprise Architect as needed to develop clear program specifications for assigned project team and/or lower-level programmers, monitor their progress and mentor them to develop higher levels of technical competence.

• Stay abreast of significant technological developments that may impact the business.

• Driving adoption of automation and CI/CD technologies and practices

• Ensuring secure design of AWS environments

• Working with developers to promote Agile and DevOps practice

Experience in one or more of the following is a plus

• Agile

• Scrum

• SAFe

• Knowledge of C# and .Net Core

• Knowledge of AWS, DevOps, Serverless Streaming technologies, Docker

• Knowledge of relational database & NoSQL design principals

• Knowledge of performance optimization

• Experience with XML, JSON, Windows services, IIS, Oracle database, Linux

• Knowledge of TypeScript, cloud formation template, AWS CDK

• Knowledge of networks and AWS infrastructure

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree in CS, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
