Job DescriptionOur client is seeking a

Cloud Software Engineer III

to develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse Big-Data Cloud systems based upon documented requirements.

This is an onsite role in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities

Provide in-depth knowledge of information retrieval; assisting the software development team in designing, developing, and testing Cloud information retrievalImplement complex workflows that manage Cloud MapReduce analyticsImplement code that interacts with Cloud distributed coordination frameworksOversee one or more software development tasks and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular projectMake recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standardsServe as a subject matter expert for Cloud computing and corresponding technologies including HadoopAssist the software development team in designing, developing, and testing Cloud computing systemsDebug problems with Cloud based distributed computing frameworksManage multi-node Cloud based installationDelegate programming and testing responsibilities to one or more teams and monitor their performanceSelect the software development process in coordination with the customer and systems engineeringRecommend new technologies and processes for complex cloud software projectsEnsure quality control of all developed and modified softwareArchitect solutions to complex Cloud software engineering problems such as efficiently processing and retrieving large amounts of dataMake recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards

TS/SCI with FS PolyRequired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university12+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity (4+ years must be in programs utilizing Big-Data Cloud technologies and/or distributed computing and this may be substituted for a degree)Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline may be substituted for 2 years of experienceCloudera Certified Hadoop Developer certification may be substituted for 1 year of Cloud experience2+ years of Cloud and/or Distributed Computing Information Retrieval1 year of experience with implementing code that interacts with implementation of Cloud Bigtable1 year of experience with implementing code that interacts with implementation of Cloud Distributed File System1 year of experience with implementing complex MapReduce analytics1 year of experience with implementing code that interacts with Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks1 year of experience in architecting Cloud computing solutions1 year of experience in debugging problems with Cloud-based Distributed Computing Frameworks1 year of experience in managing multi-node Cloud based installationExperience with utility computing, network management, virtualization (VMWare or VirtualBox)Experience with multi-node management and installationExperience with Python, CFEngine, Bash, Ruby, or related technologiesExperience in information assuranceExperience with object-oriented design and programming, Java, Eclipse, or similar development environmentExperience with at least one of the following:YARNJ2EEMapReduceZookeeperHDFSHBaseJMSConcurrent ProgrammingMulti-Node implementation/installationApache LuceneApache SolrMongoDBExperience with XML, JSON, CSV, Binary Formats, Sequence or map files, Avro, or related technologiesExperience with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) memory management, UNIX/Linux, and CentOSExperience with SIGINT collection discipline areas such as FORNSAT, CABLE, Terrestrial/Microwave, Overhead, and ELINTExperience with configuration management tools such as Subversion, ClearQuest, or RazorHamdan Resources, LLC is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
