Quality Assurance

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Authority, Scope and Basic Function This position is responsible for implementing the quality processes related to the fabrication of Novum structural systems. Incumbent ensures the quality of the materials and fabrication processes to meet or exceed company and customer requirements. Performs complex geometric dimensional inspections on in-process and finished fabrications and incoming material, ensuring Novum quality standards and conformance to customer quality and specifications. Essential Duties and Principal Responsibilities Responsible for the quality of assigned project and/or task. Inspect incoming material and verify conformance with established quality standards. Inspect and check work in-process and approve materials prior to shipping. Inbound material certification review, scanning material certifications and certification entry into DAX. Ensure that all Material Certifications, Chemical Analysis, Mechanical Properties, and Test Reports for assigned projects have been received, reviewed, approve and stored prior to material use. Review and approve test and final inspection results/documentation. In coordination with the Production Department perform inspections and test to insure quality and schedule. Perform supplier site inspection and verification of company supplied materials as required. Write nonconformance reports and ensure timely resolution to quality issues. Work with Production and Tech Services Departments to develop quality standards and procedures. Help research, develop, and follow through with product and material testing as required. Coordinate resolution of drawing conflicts or errors with Tech Services in a timely manner and ensure drawing revisions are issued appropriately. Communicate back with Tech Services with constructive information on drawing improvements. Uphold and manage all components of the Quality Assurance Manual. Execute and manage projects as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager and/or Quality Assurance Lead. Fills in and assists with whatever other duties, as called upon and/or as needed. Promptly record inspection status in DAX as required. The Quality Assurance function supports Novum\'s fabrication process. As such, incumbent is expected to work any hours outside of normal shift hours (overtime and weekends) as needed to support the fabrication process. The time will be evenly distributed amongst the Quality Assurance team and every effort will be made to accommodate personal schedules. Qualifications / Requirements Minimum of 2 years demonstrated quality and inspection experience. Ability to read and understand specification and quality control procedures, structural fabrication drawings, and Bills of Materials. Above average oral and written communication skills.
