Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a full time Board Certified Wound Care specialist. This position includes Leadership and Clinical Direction for all Bon Secours Richmond Wound Care Clinics.
Duties include overseeing clinical functions at all four Bon Secours Wound Care Facilities, patient care and Medical Directorship (.2 FTE Medical Directorship). Successful candidate will see patients for scheduled appointments which include sick visits, routine follow-ups, hospital follow-ups and pre-op medical clearance. In addition to refilling medications, follow-up with patients on labs/imaging studies with assistance of LPN/CMA, document encounter, billing in EMR and close encounter same day. Sign home health orders and other patient correspondence as needed.
The Medical Director is essential to the success of the Wound Care Center. As a member of the leadership team, the Medical Director is responsible for the oversight of medical services rendered as well as the quality of wound care provided. The Medical Director will act as a strong advocate of the Wound Care Center, help guide and direct the Centers overall development and provisions of medical services.
Medical Director Duties and Responsibilities
Delivery of Medical Care
Ensure Center providers adhere to BSMH Best Practices Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures
Support the Centers clinical and administrative staff in their professional development through continuing education and adjudication of clinical matters pursuant to the delivery of wound care and HBOT.
Ensure the completion of medical record documentation and billing information in a timely and accurate fashion
Serve as a resource for consultation and referral for providers from other disciplines
Assist in the recruitment and training of providers for the Center
Act as a medical liaison between the Centers Medical Staff and Market Administration
Advise/consult with BSMH regarding budgetary needs of the Center to effectively manage and allocate resources for the Center
Provide other related tasks that may be deemed necessary to operate the Center effectively and efficiently
Quality Assurance
Assist the System Medical Director implement system-wide initiatives and improve key performance indicators
Ensure Center meet and maintain all requirements necessary for full accreditation by The Joint Commission and the Ohio Medicare and Medicaid programs
Implement and manage the Centers quality metrics
Conduct or participate in the Centers leadership meeting
Participate in meetings or correspondence with the System Medical Director
Review and respond to any complaints and grievances with corrective action when appropriate in accordance with the BSMH bylaws, rules, and regulations
Center Growth and Advocacy
Participate in the Centers marketing strategies including but not limited to the development of BSMH publications, presentations to community groups, and personal contact with referring providers
Act as a medical liaison between the Center and the local community
Enhance the Centers visibility with presentations at hospital dept meetings, grand round presentations, and local medical and community organizations when appropriate
