The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare and academic medicine, is seeking a dynamic, Board Certified Family Medicine Physician for a full time faculty position in the UAMS Southwest Family Medicine Residency Clinic in Texarkana, Arkansas. Responsibilities include caring for patients of all ages and teaching residents in a direct patient care setting and assisting with curriculum development. UAMS Southwest Family Medicine Residency is an 8-8-8 community-based program. The applicant must be board certified in Family Medicine.
The UAMS Southwest is one of eight Centers located throughout the state and operating under the Regional Programs Division of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, located in Little Rock, Arkansas. UAMS Southwest has the broad support of both hospital-based and community-based physicians in Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas, and the main campus in Little Rock. UAMS Southwests sponsoring institutions are Christus St. Michael Health System, located by the I-30 Corridor, and Wadley Regional Medical Center, located downtown in the Historic District. Texarkana is a medium size city with suburban surroundings that borders both Texas and Arkansas, and is exempt from Arkansas state income tax. Texarkana is centrally located between two major cities on Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas is 140 miles east and Dallas, Texas is 160 miles west. Texarkana USA is served by Texarkana Regional Airport.
Skills
- Must have successfully graduated from an ACGME accredited Family Practice Residency Program
- Must be Board Certified in Family Medicine
- Must have or be able to obtain an Arkansas medical license and acquire a Texas medical license
- Must be able to obtain an unrestricted DEA license
