UPG Electrical is looking for an Engineer Intern for this summer at our Elk Grove Village, IL facility. This intern will assist in performing time studies on various manufacturing equipment throughout the plant. Prepare and present results of the studies. Take on additional projects related to equipment and cell layout. Assist in evaluating processes from lean manufacturing perspective and report on suggestions. Create and implement standardized work.
This will be a paid student internship that will provide relevant skills in both a multi-site manufacturing and business unit environment. This intern will report to the Director of Operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Time and analyze operation steps.Summarize findings in written reports.Present reports to appropriate personnel.Interact with appropriate personnel regarding organization of tooling.Use Lean tools to assist with continuous improvement.Interact with appropriate personnel regarding creating/updating documents.Create documents and process document release.Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.Perform other duties as assigned.Position Requirements
Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.Class level: Junior or Senior.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).Knowledge of other software applications such as SAP, Teams, AutoCAD is preferred.Must be able to work onsite in Elk Grove Village, Illinois and have reliable transportation.
