Description

We are seeking an experienced

Sr. Cloud Engineer

to join our team at Lantern. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure in support of our rapidly growing client base. You will work closely with our clients to understand their business requirements, support cloud environments, and provide ongoing support to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Additionally, you will collaborate with our internal teams to deliver high-quality services and exceed client expectations.

Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the implementation of cloud solutions on the Azure platform, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability;Collaborate with clients to assess their cloud readiness, develop migration strategies, and architect environments that meet their business objectives;Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, and develop automation tools to streamline cloud provisioning, configuration, and management;Perform cloud infrastructure assessments to identify and implement optimization solutions for performance, security, and cost-efficiency;Serve as a subject matter expert on cloud technologies, staying current with industry trends and contributing to internal knowledge sharing and service enhancement;Configure, deploy, and monitor cloud infrastructure components, troubleshoot issues, and enforce security best practices, including compliance controls;Provide ongoing technical support to clients, assist with incident response, and support problem resolution and performance tuning;Assist other consulting teams (data platform, software engineering) with the design and implementation of scalable software services;Address client managed services tickets, with occasional after-hours work; this position is not on call;Support our internal cloud estate;Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

5+ years of experience in a related role, with at least 2 years specializing in cloud engineering, specifically on the Azure platform;Advanced knowledge of Azure services and capabilities, with strong experience in Virtual Machines and networking principles including network security, firewalls, subnetting, and VPN connections;Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Bicep, Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates, alongside scripting and automation using PowerShell or Bash;Solid understanding of cloud security principles, with practical experience in implementing security controls, compliance standards, and identity management concepts (e.g., MSFT Entra ID, Azure B2B/B2C, Azure RBAC, and PIM);Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with both clients and internal teams;Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor junior engineers, drive innovation, and foster a collaborative environment;Relevant Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700), and Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) are highly desirable;Experience with Active Directory Administration, including OU and Group Policy management, SPNs, and delegation;Proficiency in Windows and Windows Server administration, including updates, patching, backup, and recovery;Ability to manage multiple client engagements and initiatives simultaneously;Experience with technical documentation, Azure DevOps, ITSM systems, and Modern Workplace tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Power BI.Benefits
