As a member of the epitaxial and optical thin film manufacturing group you’ll be immersed in multi-modal thin film growth and deposition techniques while developing your metrology and characterization skills to enable best-in-class device production.Laser Optical Coating Engineer position is unique in that it offers simultaneous opportunities to hone your engineering skills while also developing a greater understanding of how data drives manufacturing improvements through the implementation and utilization of dynamic data analysis.

Duties:Monitor and evaluate SPC data using Excel/MiniTab/MATLABDevelop a reporting strategy for SPC data which clearly identifies improvement focus areasWork with technicians/operators/facilities staff to ensure continuous operation of production resourcesIdentify opportunities for process improvement and develop DOEs/implement engineering change ordersMonitor and report on process yield/throughputDrive continuous improvement of characterization methodsBe comfortable working in clean room attire as requiredApplying various statistical methods to improve reproducibility and manufacturability through Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) , Control Plan and Gage R&R studiesCoordinate with MES deployment team to transfer existing SPC methods to new environmentSkills/Qualifications:Must have a B.S. or M.S. in Optical Engineering, Material Science or related fieldStrong verbal and written communication skills are a must-haveKnowledge of semiconductor lasersClean room environment experienceExposure to medium to long term projectsExperience working in interdisciplinary teamsProficient with MS Office applications Word/Excel/PowerPoint/AccessStrong analytical and problem-solving ability. Appreciation of both practical and theoretical methodologiesKnowledge of troubleshooting guides, working documentation, safetyKnowledge of quality systems and reliability assessmentExperience with Lean and 5S programs. Experience with Six SigmaDemonstrated success in project managementDetailed working knowledge of semiconductor wafer fabrication processes, including wet and dry etching, thin films, moderate scale photolithographyProven track record in program management and technical team leadershipSelf-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environmentThis position is located in the United States and will require use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
