The Forensic and Specialty Analysis group resides in the Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Division. We specialize in chemical signature evaluation using a combination of untargeted and targeted analyses with Artificial Intelligence-based workflows.Objectives of this Role:
Manage and execute method development projects in Gas and Liquid Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry.Expand high-throughput chemical analysis capabilities through innovative internal and external research in areas related to machine learning and workflow development.Mentor technical staff in applying fundamental chemical principles.Investigate new and additional analytical tools for trace analysis.Publish and present findings as applicable.Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Project management (interact with clients and management, budget, reporting) and technical project planning.Data compilation and reporting related to Chemistry projects.Project buildup and operations.Prepare proposals and business plans for technical areas.Oversee technical staff in project execution and train staff as needed.Requirements:
Requires a Masters or a PhD in Chemistry; Classes in AI, CS, is preferred0 years of experience required with a PhD but must have related graduate work1 year of experience with a MS related to mass spectrometry, computational chemistry, and workflow developmentClasses, projects, or skills related to AI or CS, such as chemo-informatics or python skillsBio-analytical background or interest in bio analytical principlesA valid/clear driver's license is requiredSpecial Requirements:
