Solvere is looking for a Systems Administrator to provide support on NIAPS (Navy Information Application Product Suite). NIAPS delivers maintenance, logistics, administrative, training and management applications to users at sea. NIAPS is designed to maximize the use of limited bandwidth by providing afloat units with access to applications while disconnected from the internet.

Description:

System Administrator with a Secret clearance to support Navy Sites and Programs of Record.

Job responsibilities:

• Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices.

• Provided infrastructure maintenance and support for engineering and system administration services to NIAPS / RDT&E programs. Maintained and ensured stable operation of classified and unclassified infrastructures and platforms.

• Performed maintenance on IT infrastructure and platforms as well as hands-on engineering, installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of the following:

- Physical/blade servers

- Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Direct Attached Storage (DAS)

• Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

• Red Hat and Windows operating systems

• Active Directory and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) services

• Windows and VMware virtual and Platform-as-a- Service (PaaS).

• Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.

• Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

• Setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software, validating and implementing critical system patches, and allocating mass storage space.

• Assist in the implementation of policies and standards related to the use of computing resources, overall strategy, design, implementation, and operational aspects of multiple systems, operating environments, and related software.

• Performs a variety of assignments associated with monitoring and controlling computer operating systems.

• Analyzes system faults and troubleshoots and runs diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems.

• Virtual machines and private clouds to provide multiple instances of production-like environments used in software development, engineering, quality assurance, integration, and test activities.

• Maintained end user accounts, permissions, and access rights Assist Infrastructure Manager and Lab Managers with Certification and Accreditation (C&A) and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) package creation and maintenance. Performed information assurance and security of IT infrastructure and platforms.

• Performed network and security audits and base lining using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) tools.

• Provided Tier 2 and 3 support for system administration and operations of IT infrastructure and platforms.

• Architects, engineers, plans, configures, deploys, maintains, and upgrades NIAPS test and developer environments. Monitors and operates NIAPS, DoD PKI, servers, workstations and other devices utilized to access and generate message data.

• Manages the systems to provide a secure computing environment, to include delivery of relevant and necessary software, relevant and necessary security patches, Computer Tasking Orders (CTO) and providing detailed reporting on hardware assets, software assets and current configuration posture.

• Installs and patches operating systems, enterprise services and management of messaging systems and applications.

• Performs network and security audits and base lining using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS). Coordinates with internal and external teams and organizations to maintain system documentation. Contributes to technical review and implementation of all IA controls and technologies to include applicable DISA STIGs, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and other controls as designated applicable by the Navy. Performs IA control remediation through STIG, documentation, ACAS scans, and HBSS policy configurations.

• Provides hardware engineering/integration of physical servers, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and Direct Attached Storage (DAS), backups, virtual environments, private clouds, network design and components, middleware, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Operating Systems (OS), monitoring devices, hypervisors, workstations, zero/thin clients, and peripheral hardware.

• Designs, implements, and maintains virtual machines and private clouds to provide multiple instances of production-like environments used in software engineering, quality assurance, information assurance, integration, and test activities.

Qualifications:

Must have degree in engineering, computer science or STEM. Associates Degree and 4 years related technical work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree. Applicable experience will be accepted in lieu of advance degrees.

Required Skills include:

Ability to work with and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders; government technical representatives, and other supporting contractors; excellent written and oral communications; ability to work independently or in a team collaborative environment; ability to brief senior government personnel.

Desired Skills and Certifications:

Prior Navy Experience as a SYSADMIN

Afloat experience: NIAPS, CANES, ISNS, TSCE

Ashore experience: NIAPS, RDT&E, CEDC, SRDT&E

Experience in administering and configuration of a VMware environment

Experience as a Windows system administrator

Ability to possess an CSWF IAT II certification level (Cybersecurity Workforce Credentials IAT 2 Windows OS and Security+) – Required

Security Requirements:

• Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.

Travel Requirements:

• Occasional travel-up to 5%
