JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The IT Services of the Applied Research Laboratory is seeking undergraduate students to work across a variety of information technology disciplines including, but not limited to: computing support, networking, systems administration, helpdesk support, and cybersecurity.
ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.
Responsibilities include:
End-user support - Answering phones/emailsTechnical writingAssisting with installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, and support of computing and network hardware and softwareAssisting in the development of process and equipment documentation; assisting with equipment inventory and auditingAssisting with cybersecurity initiativesAssisting with programming and software development tasks and other duties as assignedStudents studying Information Science and Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering are encouraged to apply.
Required skills and experience include:
Excellent communication, customer service, technical writing, and organizational skillsPreferred skills and experience include:
Configuration, installation, and support of network equipment as well as programmingMicrosoft Windows systems in a domain environment, iOS, and Linux
The successful candidate will work up to 30 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours per week over the summer.
Candidate selected may be subject to a government security investigation.

Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
