Principal Manufacturing Systems Engineer
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role will be supporting our Advanced Manufacturing Technology Organization. This position will be located in
St. Augustine, FL or Melbourne FL.The role requires working with the automation supplier to develop turnkey automated robotic solutions for coatings booth. Identify and select electrical and software components, develop and review CAD models for equipment and panel builds, develop HMI and PLC software, integrate third party software, perform testing and debugging of as built systems. Support integration acceptance testing, factory acceptance testing and buy-offs, provide installation and validation support, provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts to ensure the best manufacturing technique is being used to meet the engineering design. Run and operate booth as needed.This position will require 25% travel and the qualified applicant must be able to obtain and maintain Program Special Access over multiple platforms.In addition, you will identify and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure research and development contractual obligations (technical, schedule, and cost) are met and product quality is maintained. You will provide guidance regarding design concepts, TRL/MRL maturity, and specification requirements to best utilize resources and manufacturing techniques, and ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. This role involves interfacing with internal and external customers, program offices, engineering disciplines, and all levels of management. In addition, the role will require the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic/fast-paced work environment. Budgeting and Project Management skills will be utilized to properly scope and execute assigned work and manage project efforts.Roles and ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology team, you will be involved with all aspects of the Manufacturing Technology Development cycle.Identify customer needs, define requirements, technical planning and documentation (generate statements of work, requirements documents test plans)Identify and develop innovative solutions leveraging technology to meet customer needs.Manage project cost (spending, charging, implementation, savings and return on investment) and schedule (develop project deliverables and detail plans including but limited to IMS project schedules, status and visibility, roadmaps, spend plans)Manufacturing system development/integration, verification and validation, and implementation, identify and mitigate program risk and capture opportunity impacts.Follow projects through all manufacturing readiness level phases: concept development, design, fabrication/assembly/test at lab level, production environment demo, full production operations implementation (TTP Transition to Production), sustainment/maintenance/ continuous improvement.Ability to work a 4/10 shift schedule.Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, engineering, production, customers, and suppliers.We offer Monday-Thursday shifts from 6am-4:30pm, with every Friday off, phenomenal learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment.
