JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Transportation Services-Fleet Operations is searching for a Part-Time Campus Shuttle Driver

Drive shuttle services vehicles, such as van-buses, vans, shuttle buses, handicap service vehicles, etc., on established routes and schedules, and special assignments, to transport passengers within the University Park and State College area. Stop at posted stops to allow passengers to enter and/or exit in a safe and efficient manner. Check all passengers upon entering vehicle for required pass, as assigned. Provide information such as campus directions, building locations, etc., as requested. Operate two-way radio to report breakdown or other problems requiring assistance to Supervisor or Group Leader and/or to receive instructions. Check vehicles for fuel, lubrication, water, antifreeze, etc. Check condition of tires and general operation of vehicles as to engine, headlights, turn signals, emergency and stop flashing lights, doors, windshield wipers, horn, etc. Report malfunctions and/or needed repairs and servicing to Supervisor or Group Leader. Perform general housekeeping duties to keep vehicles clean and habitable on the inside; clean windshield and rearview mirror(s) as needed. Read and record odometer readings as assigned. Dispatch from and return vehicles to Fleet parking for customers as assigned. Shuttle vehicles in the University Park and State College area. Keep and fill in as appropriate daily and special time and defect sheets and other statistical data gathering records as required.

Job Requirements: Requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments, graduates and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications; or the posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data.

Requires a Pennsylvania Commercial Driver`s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement (P); without Air Brake Restriction (L). Over 6 months up to and including 9 months of effective experience.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT YOU OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE AS PART OF YOUR JOB DUTIES. A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AND SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE RECORDS CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED IN ADDITION TO STANDARD BACKGROUND CHECKS.

NOTE: THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TESTING FOR ALCOHOL AND CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES (49 CFR PART 40), AND PHYSICAL EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS AS PER 67 PA. CODE 231.85.
