Description

Charlotte Latin School has an immediate need for a Bus Driver. The Bus Driver will drive Charlotte Latin's buses during the Academic School year and may fill in for summer programs as needed. Morning and afternoon bus routes are available as well as combinations of both. Morning routes and hours are between 6 - 9 a.m. Afternoon routes and hours are between 2 - 7:30 p.m.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDrive Charlotte Latin's morning and/or afternoon bus routes to pick up and drop off students in grades TK-12.Ensure the safety of all students on your bus.Maintain the vehicle's cleanliness and proper working condition; alerting maintenance when needed.Supervisory Responsibilities

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GEDThree years' experience driving a bus preferredExperience working for a school preferredMust have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to operate a school busCLD medical certificate must be current and on file with the North Carolina Department of TransportationSkills

Ability to operate a motor vehicle.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructionsAbility to remain focused while driving childrenAbility to give clear instructions to children to maintain their safetyA genuine care for children in grades TK-12Ability to work effectively with diverse populationsAbility to lift up to 25 pounds or moreAdheres to the highest level of professionalismWorking Conditions and Environment

Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity.Frequently talk and hear.Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools, and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders.Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor heat and cold temperatures.Long or odd hours, as needed.
