Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dependable School Bus Driver to transport students to and from school, following designated routes and schedules in a safe and efficient manner. The School Bus Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students while on the bus, enforcing safety rules and procedures, and maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere on the bus. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to student safety and welfare.

Responsibilities:

Safely operate a school bus in compliance with all traffic laws, regulations, and district policies.Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure that the bus is in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.Follow designated routes and schedules, picking up and dropping off students at designated stops in a timely manner.Ensure the safety and well-being of students while on the bus, enforcing safety rules and procedures, and maintaining order and discipline as needed.Assist students, including helping them board and exit the bus safely, securing seat belts or child safety restraints as required, and providing assistance to students with special needs.Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and district personnel, providing courteous and professional service and addressing concerns or inquiries promptly and courteously.Follow emergency procedures and protocols in the event of accidents, breakdowns, or other emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and colleagues.Complete required paperwork, such as daily logs, mileage reports, and incident reports, accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining accurate records of bus operations and student counts.Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance driving skills, safety knowledge, and customer service skills.Adhere to district policies and procedures regarding driver conduct, safety protocols, and student transportation, promoting a culture of safety and professionalism.Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger (P) endorsement and school bus (S) endorsement.Clean driving record with no more than [X] points or violations in the past [Y] years.Previous experience as a bus driver or commercial driver preferred.Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and safety procedures.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and district personnel.Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially in emergency situations.Commitment to safety and professionalism, with a focus on providing exceptional service to students and families.Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision.Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings and late afternoons, as needed.Benefits:
