District: Hiawatha CUSD #426 Hiawatha CUSD #426 is looking for several bus drivers.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obeys all traffic laws. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses. Monitors and maintains student conduct when students are on bus. Reports any student concerns to the transportation coordinator and building principals. Keeps assigned bus clean. Keeps to assigned schedule. Checks bus (performs pre-trip inspection) before each operation for mechanical defects. Notifies the Transportation Coordinator in case of mechanical failure or lateness while on the route. Picks up and releases students only at authorized locations. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips. Transports only authorized students. Reports all accidents and completes required reports. Enforces district policy on student behavior on buses. Attends training that is required by the school district (e.g. random drug testing, refresher course, etc.). Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance. Maintains a positive attitude and professional demeanor when dealing with school personnel and the public as a school leader. Requirements: Valid CDL Class B license with School Bus endorsement. Demonstrated desire to help all children.
Reports to: Transportation Coordinator
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine month school year. Salary and work to be established by Board based upon recommendation by the Superintendent.
