Description
Purpose is to provide safe, efficient, and on-time delivery of passengers by means of public transportation.Examples of Duties
Essential functions:Drives one of several different coaches or vans in a safe, courteous and reliable manner along a designated route within a defined time schedule.Notifies central dispatch of deviations, overload, accident or passenger incidents.Notifies central dispatch of passenger's medical or behavioral problems and bus mechanical or electrical trouble.Stops at designated points to load and/or unload passengersSees that fares are deposited into the fare box, distributes transfers and dispenses information.Advises passengers of rules and regulations when necessary.Completes and submits written reports concerning passenger incidents, preventable and non-preventable accidents.Operates fare box and destination signs.Records passenger counts.Assists dispatcher and staff in collecting national transit database data via the radio system.Announces stops to the public.Attend required training and meetings.Other job functions:
Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
Typical Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. CDL B or higher with passenger endorsement. Clean driving record.

Must be willing to work departmental shift hours as assigned.
