The primary responsibility of the Proposal Writer Intern will be to work with the Proposal Manager, Business Development and Operations Personnel to plan and deliver major Health & Human Services proposals to a wide range of Government clients at locations throughout the U.S. This position is a highly visible role that works collaboratively with senior leadership, capture personnel, and operations management to write, edit, review, and produce winning proposals.Creates compliant, compelling responses for assigned proposal sections/ topics and recommend creative ideations of associated graphics, charts, tables, appendices, and other information in support of proposal developmentCross-references solicitation documents (RFPs, RFIs, etc.) to create organized writing outlines that are responsive to requirementsPresents outlines in storyboarding sessionsSubmits complete written proposal responses within tight deadlinesIncorporates feedback from reviewers to improve draftsInterviews technical experts and operational resources to gather information that supports proposal development and transforms that information into clear, concise, compelling proposal textApplies win themes and strategic messaging in proposal contentCollaborates with Business Development team members to understand market positioning, competition, capabilities, client drivers, and solution componentsIdentifies and reworks existing proposal content for use in active bidsSupports the maintenance of a writing team content libraryInteracts with senior-level internal and external personnelUses SharePoint collaborative platform to upload materialsServes as an editor for other writers as neededRecommends continuous improvement initiatives to refine writing processes and techniques as appropriateCollaborates with graphic artists to conceptualize visuals (diagrams, workflows, icons, etc.) to accompany writingPerforms additional duties as necessary or assignedAdditional Duties and Requirements:Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffingWorks on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trendsFollows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutionsActs as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve problemsDevelops and administers schedules and performance requirementsFrequently interacts with subordinate employees, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the companyRecommends changes to policies and establishes procidures that affect immediate organization(s)Requirements:Actively pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Writing, Business Management, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, English, etc. with a key focus towards developing your writing skillsExcellent writing and editing skills, with an eye for detail and accuracyStrong verbal communication skillsExperience working both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentAbility to multitask effectively while performing job duties, including ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlinesProficient computer and software skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and SharePointJob Summary
