** Driver 1st Shift****Job Category****:** Service Center **Requisition Number****:** DRIVE001464 Showing 1 location **Job Details****Description****Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*** Operate heavy commercial trucks to provide prompt and courteous delivery of steel products.* Ensure compliance with Company, State and Federal regulations while operating the vehicle.* Maintain daily trip logs (including but not limited to mileage and routes).* Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Majestic Steels policies.* Secure and tarp loads with material being transported in accordance with company procedure.* Manage equipment (including but not limited to tarps, chains and racks) and make recommendations to management when items need to be replaced.* Coordinate required preventative maintenance or other maintenance truck needs with maintenance area.* Communicate and update area management on issues related to equipment, loading/unloading and associate/customer interaction.* Other job related duties and special projects as assigned.**Education, Training and Experience Requirements:*** Five years commercial driving experience- flatbed, steel* Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL).* Possess (or obtain) a valid DOT medical certificate.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:*** Ability and knowledge to safely and properly block brace and secure steel products.* Ability to plan and prioritize workload.* Ability to communicate with management and co-workers, and the ability to work well independently.**Preferred Qualifications:*** High School diploma or equivalent.* Experience transporting steel products.**Additional:*** Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.* Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a regular basis* Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed.* Must be able to travel occasionally and work at an outside location.At Majestic, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where diverse voices are welcomed from associates throughout the entire organization.
