Employee will also be eligible to receive an additional $1500 bonus at 12 months of hire.**Cedar Grove:**Cedar Grove Composting is a local, family-owned business with deep roots in the Seattle area dating back to 1938. Cedar Grove plays a critical role in the Puget Sounds recycling infrastructure and sustainability efforts, diverting more than 350,000 tons of yard waste and food scraps from landfills annually. With two processing facilities in Maple Valley and Everett, Cedar Grove is a local manufacturer providing green jobs in King and Snohomish Counties. Cedar Grove produces wholesome, nutrient-rich compost that is sold to businesses, governments and residents, ensuring consumers have access to locally produced, recycled products.**Job Summary** : The Class A Driver safely delivers compost to homes, dealers and construction sites in the greater Seattle, Tacoma and Everett areas. Also able to pick up and unload waste at required facilities.Required at Time of Interview: Current copy of your Driver's Abstract.**Key Interfaces:*** Customers* Transportation Manager* Drivers* Dispatch**Essential Duties & Responsibilities :*** Operate safely and efficiently a variety of trucks including Semi, Dump/Pup, Live floor trailers and Transfer trucks.* Perform pre-trip inspections and fill out log before operating vehicle.* Deliver compost to homes, dealers and construction sites.**Required Skills:*** Must have CDL Class A.* Must provide us with a clean current 5-year driving abstract.* Must be able to perform physical tasks such as tarping loads, climbing in and on trucks, working electric pallet jacks, and digging out stuck loads, washing and fueling trucks.* Should have familiarity with local area and have efficient map reading skills for local deliveries.* Delivery of waste to the facility for processing as needed.* Must keep an organized and professional appearance at all times.* Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.* Must interact with public in professional manner.* Be self-motivated and reliable to meet performance standards.* Flexible work schedule due to seasonal demands.**Education/Certification:*** Must have experience with variety of trucks including Semi, Dump/Pup, and Live floor trailers. Prefer Transfer truck experience.* Must have experience with 10, 13 & 18 speed transmissions and be able to pass a driving test.* History of good employment attendance.**Experience/Other*** Understand and follow all OSHA/WISHA requirements including wearing PPE: vests/gloves.* Utilize proper lifting techniques and bars.**Physical Demands:**To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb in and out of trucks, up to 8 hours per day. Answer and talk on telephone, email on occasion and work with computer system. Drive safely Class A equipment. Daily lift and carry objects up to 60 pounds and roll heavy dumpsters and bins.
