About the Role:
We are seeking a
Staff Product Manager, Instrumentation
to lead the commercial efforts of our single cell instrumentation line. This position will report to the Director of Product Management, Single Cell, and will be responsible for a) leading the execution of product management activities for workflow automation, ensuring the right product concept, fit, requirements, and eventual launch of product(s), and b) leading instrument life cycle management efforts for the Chromium portfolio. This role will require deep collaboration with multiple stakeholders within the single cell product portfolio and marketing program management, marketing communications, sales, support, R&D, and operations teams. They will be responsible for owning the business case, financial assumptions and pricing, positioning, and portfolio fit for the single cell instrument product lines.
What you will be doing:Defines and maintains business plan for single cell instrumentation (benchtop and automation), including developing and integrated instrument strategy and roadmap and sustaining projects to drive improvementsInterfaces with sales and customers regularly to characterize market needs and gaps, opportunities and trends, competitive and technology landscape for the single cell platformServes as primary customer advocate during product development and sustaining projects to regularly evaluate feature requests and product enhancements; drives tradeoff decisionsWorks closely with manufacturing operations, quality, and support on product issues to ensure products meet customer expectationsCollaborates with Regional Marketing, Global Marketing counterparts and Business Development to support marketing and sales enablement activities, as well activities related to strategic 3rd party partnershipsMarketing lead for the instrument life cycle management team, defining prioritization, scope, and resourcing of sustaining projects for single cell instrumentationEducates sales and regional marketing on the single cell product line positioning and specificationsDesigns / implements effective market and forecast models for single cell instrumentation with stakeholders to provide granularity at the regional, market, and segment levelSets pricing strategy and monitors key performance indicators to ensure single cell instrument portfolio delivers against product profitability goalsMinimum Qualifications:
BS in life science field - with experience in NGS methods6 years of experience in product management or marketing in Life Sciences or Clinical industry.Strong technical knowledge of genomics, and/or next generation sequencing and molecular biology productsExperience in hardware product management required including product launchMust have experience in customer interactions in either a Sales, Support, or Marketing functionMust have experience creating financial models and business cases; strong Excel skillsExperience conducting market research and developing detailed product requirementsDemonstrated ability to develop long-term product strategies and go-to-market plansMust have proficient written, communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to diverse audiencesExperience working in highly technical and cross-functional teams covering various internal organizationsAbility to influence across the organization at all levelsExceptional time and project management skills and ability to prioritize competing requestsSelf-starter willing to work in a fast-paced environmentMust be willing to travel up to 30%Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
PhD or advanced degree preferred

Below is the base pay range for this full time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one's skills, qualifications, and experience. At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company's total compensation package. This role is also eligible for 10x's equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program. $165,000-$223,000 USD
