Responsibilities Job Summary / Purpose The

Project Manager III, Academic and Faculty Affairs

manages project management delivery and is considered a subject matter expert in project management principles, techniques and best practices. Under the direction of the System SVP, Academic and Faculty Affairs/Chief Academic Officer, Physician Enterprise, the individual in this role will be responsible for managing project plans, timelines, assignments, critical dependencies and key deliverables for all projects, initiatives and workstreams within the Academic and Faculty Affairs unit. The individual in this role must have the ability to manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive and simultaneous projects and workflows at once, while delivering accuracy, consistency and results. The

Project Manager III, Academic and Faculty Affairs

will provide project oversight for all projects within the unit to drive execution and continuous improvement. This role collaborates with several key units both within and outside of Physician Enterprise and will serve an integral role in advancing CommonSpirit Health as a leading learning health system.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

Manage the project management delivery of all functions within the unit from inception to execution and post-implementation phase

Provide subject matter expertise in project management principles, techniques and best practices

Manage and influence cross-functional teams, including executive and senior leaders, key collaborators and stakeholders through principles of good leadership, with demonstrated credibility and excellence

Direct and consult as needed with project and/or working group team members, leadership and/or stakeholders in the preparation of documentation, deliverables, milestones, resources, schedules and budgets, as applicable, to enable project execution

Prepare relevant reports, slide presentations, data analysis and graphic visualization, including project status reports, timelines and other documentation

Prepare standard operational templates, workflow maps, process diagrams and related materials for current and forthcoming unit functions and projects

Perform required due diligence to inform project pre-planning phase

Manage timelines and relevant workflows to enable project execution

Operationalize system and dashboard for routine assessment and reporting of project risk status

Develop action plans to mitigate and proactively manage project timeliness and execution

Maintain timely and intentional communication with key stakeholders and collaborators for unit projects/initiatives, including when applicable, meeting and event coordination

Facilitate training within and external to unit to maximize operational effectiveness and efficiency

Maintain and apply organizational project management tools, software and portfolio for unit (e.g. SmartSheet, Tableau, Vizio, etc.)

Collaborate with academic partners and programs, educational program leaders and other enterprise stakeholders and business partners to execute an aligned strategy for academics across CommonSpirit

Develop relationships with national, regional and local leaders to advance work of the unit

Analyze and apply data to drive improvement and operational effectiveness

Collaborate with a dynamic and agile team to achieve unit goals

Seek and leverage opportunities to acquire additional subject matter expertise in related domains of academic medicine

Represent Academic and Faculty Affairs unit at the designation of the System SVP, Academic and Faculty Affairs/Chief Academic Officer

Execute additional duties, special projects and engagements as assigned by Academic and Faculty Affairs leadership

Travel expectations will include major departmental meetings, periodic system meetings, external conferences/meetings aligned with work of this unit and as designated by Academic and Faculty Affairs leadership

Qualifications Required Education and Experience

Required Bachelor’s Degree

Required Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

Minimum 5+ years experience senior project management experience in academic and/or healthcare environment

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

Must have direct project management and/or consultative experience with certification in project management or related discipline

Experience in academic medicine and/or healthcare and leadership experience preferred

Must have high level of expertise and facility with various project management tools, processes and software (e.g., SmartSheet, Tableau, Vizio, etc.), data visualization and graphic representation, as well as PowerPoint/Google Slides, MS Word, advanced spreadsheet management and related software

Expert collaborator with ability to function with diplomacy and excellence in a complex, matrixed health system

Ability to consider, integrate and apply data to drive evidence-driven solutions aligned with both local and enterprise goals
