**Driver Assistant (Helper)**at Dempsey Uniform and Linen Supply Clifton, NJ **Title: Driver Assistant (Helper)****Reports To: Territory Service Manager****FLSA Status: Non-Exempt****Job Summary:** Driver Assistants ride along with our Route Service Representatives (RSR) and assists in loading/unloading materials to ensure smooth, safe on-time delivery. This position is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the truck routes, the customers, material handling, and the delivery process.**Essential Job Functions:*** Assist RSRs with learning and navigating various routes to deliver Dempsey products to clients.* Assist RSR with loading and unloading Dempsey products by making deliveries from the street or loading docks.* Perform all job duties in a safe manner by adhering to all driving regulations, road signs, and company safety policies and procedures* Develops and maintains our high level of service and satisfaction that exceed the expectations of Dempsey Customers.* Assist with the delivery and stocking of our products in a safe, clean, timely, and professional manner.* Assist RSRs with building long-term relationships in a friendly and professional manner.* Performs other duties as assigned**Job Qualifications:*** High school diploma or GED required* Must be at least 22 years of age with a valid drivers license and clean driving record* Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.* Must have excellent presentation and customer skills.* Must possess basic computer skills and have the ability to operate a hand-held computer* Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 75 pounds.* Must adhere to Dempsey Appearance policy.* Must have the ability to work a flexible work schedule.* Must pass extensive pre-employment checks including background check and drug test, as well as Dept. of Transportation Physical**ADA REQUIREMENTS**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
