POSITION: Floor Technician
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Floor Technician
FLSA STATUS: Part-Time Non Exempt
ASM,, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate part-time opening for a Floor Technician at the ASM Richmond facilities (Altria Theater, Dominion Energy Center, and Bon Secours Training Center). The Part-Time Floor Technician is responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, & bonneting) areas that include offices, classrooms, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, stages, hallways and other public areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follows all safety requirements and procedures at all times
Performs preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use at beginning and end of the shift
Handles floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface
Provides floor maintenance; including but not limited to, vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery
Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of the materials, methods, implements and devices used in cleaning building area
Ability to understand and speak English and follow oral and written instructions
Possess strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as a team player
Possess considerable knowledge of the operation, use and care of vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines and general house-keeping equipment
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints (due to schedule and last minute job requests)
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend assignments

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to walk safely and climb stairs.

The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Any lifting in excess of 40 pounds requires the use of appropriate safety equipment.
Employee must possess sufficient physical strength and ability to perform a variety of janitorial tasks related to the care and maintenance of buildings and equipment.
Employee must be capable of frequently pushing/pulling a custodial cart/trash cart up to 100 lbs. on concrete, tile and carpeted floors.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent
Verifiable Work Experience as a Floor Technician
Demonstrated ability to work effectively around the public and other employees
