Summary

Our client is looking for an experienced Project manager for heavy civil and marine construction projects such as roads, highways and bridges.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

The primary role of the Project Manager will be to lead and manage all field operations on their assigned projects, including but not limited to supervising project engineers, superintendents, foremen, managing subcontractors/vendors, quality control, safety management, and equipment utilization/coordinationWill oversee the day-to-day operations for construction projects ranging in value from $5M to $100MEnsure that the project is completed safely, on schedule and within budgetIs responsible for the overall success of project executionThis includes the overall responsibility for estimating, budget, schedule, contract compliance, safety, quality of work, project closeout, and owner satisfactionAssists in the preparation of any technical proposals required by design/build projects, private/public partnership projects, or best value projects.Attends and participates in safety or training classes as needed and provided.Has knowledge of relevant equipment, materials, and means and methods.Monitors safety, schedule and cost and makes necessary operations adjustments to support established goals, budgets, and contract requirements.Regularly interfaces with the Construction Manager to coordinate equipment and human resources for assigned projects.Represents in a business-like, ethical and professional manner at various progress meetings, partnering sessions, joint venture meetings, conferences and industry functions as required.Safety

Integrates safety rules, policies and practices in all work elements. Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.Solves safety problems immediately then coordinates with field supervision, Construction Manager and Safety Department.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job does involve direct supervision of personnel and carries supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology and 5 years of related experience. A combination of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience in heavy civil and marine construction and cost estimating is highly valued.
