Overview
LifeLong AmeriCorps Health Fellows are committed to serving side-by-side with our health center teams. AmeriCorps Health Fellows will be trained and placed across 14 Community Health Centers and Programs to provide services to patients, clients, and community members over 11 months. The mission of our AmeriCorps Health Fellows program is for AmeriCorps Fellows to increase the number of medically underserved individuals to have access and utilize preventive and primary care services while getting the skills they need to pursue a health care profession.
To strengthen the recruitment and retention of our AmeriCorps Health Fellows program, the AmeriCorps Recruitment Coordinator will be dedicated to expanding and building the program's capacity and partnering with organizations to effectively recruit and retain AmeriCorps Fellows. The AmeriCorps Recruitment Coordinator will provide capacity building support to program and program staff, as defined by the achievement of the following outcomes:An increase in capacity built
An increase in AmeriCorps member applications receivedAn increase in number of AmeriCorps member slots filledAn increase in number of AmeriCorps members retainedTo provide additional support to program staff in program recruiting, partnership collaboration and resource development (for the purposes of member retention). Recruitment Coordinator activities will aim to increase awareness of national service opportunities by:Conduct a capacity needs assessment and develop an action plan to diagnose and address the needsSupport program staff in identifying, developing, and fostering partnerships to increase outreach to potential AmeriCorps MembersExpand community outreach efforts through presentations at colleges and career fairs; build social media presence through active posting and coordination with partner agenciesDevelop marketing materials for recruitment purposesImplement a tracking system and maintaining dataImplement strategies to keep AmeriCorps Alumni engaged in promoting national serviceBenefits of the Program:Stipend of up to
