Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain complete knowledge of any and comply with all Newport Group Inc, franchise and hotel/department policies and procedures.
Review daily status of business, schedules, priority assignments, booking and all information pertinent to the department operation
Work with minimal supervision
Ensure that all incoming calls are answered in 3 rings with the proper greetings and telephone etiquette.
Greet scheduled visitors
Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
Accurately report month-end, year to date room night and revenue accounts on GRC for revenue increasing opportunities and possible action plans
Actively solicit and book business following hotel standards
Suggestively sell hotel features and benefits to meet clients needs and maximize revenues
Attend and participate in monthly, weekly, or daily departmental meetings as well as weekly revenue management meetings.
Adhere to all accounting policies regarding billing procedures for clients
Welcome group contacts upon arrival at check-in and/or function and ensure guest satisfaction
Establishes client base of organizations, associations, and corporate businesses through inside sales effort
Negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines.
Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities and entertains qualified potential clients, manages walk-in traffic.
Contact clients after scheduled booking/function to ensure guest satisfaction and to solicit repeat business
Maintain up-to-date traces on all accounts
Consults newspapers, trade journals, and other publications to learn about contemplated conventions and social functions and events.
Maintain accurate computer information on all new and ongoing leads and accounts, including solicitation efforts.
