Normal CornBelters / Kernels Collegiate LeagueSummary

The Normal CornBelters (NCB), a summer wood-bat collegiate baseball team, are members of the Prospect League. The CornBelters are owned and operated by Play9 Sports, a sports management group. Play9 Sports also operates the Kernels Collegiate League (KCL), a wood-bat collegiate league, which plays a 30-game league solely at the Corn Crib in Normal. The Normal CornBelters, Kernels Collegiate League, and the Corn Crib are looking for a Director of Ticket Sales to join their team for the upcoming 2024 season.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reports directly to the General ManagerResponsible for the operation of the ticket sales department for the team. This includes the management of:

Ticket Package salesGroup salesPremium Area salesSponsorship salesSpecial Event sales

Manage ticket inventory through the vivenu online ticket platformMaximize performance of the online Box Office and all points of sale locationsEnsure that all ticketed events are correctly built and displayed onlineIdentify new sales opportunities through networking and outreach within the local marketDevelop strong relationships with current and prospective ticket package holders and group coordinators, as well as members of the local community such as nonprofits and community groupsOversee (or assist in supervising) interns and Sales Associate staff assigned to the Ticket Sales department

This includes the training and mentoring of sales interns for the fall, spring, and summer

Follow through on all sales efforts and strategies determined by the Front Office staffParticipate as a team member through meetings and offer support to other team members to maximize customer service, retention efforts, and sales performanceInteract with other Normal CornBelters departments to provide a cooperative, client-oriented focus for all fan engagement and ticket sales-related operationsHelp to build an atmosphere of professionalism while following the core values of the Normal CornBelters organizationAny additional duties or tasks assigned by the General ManagerCompetencies and Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, detail-oriented, strong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesExcellent organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite productsSelf-starter with a creative mind who is motivated to build relationships and exceed expectationsAbility to maintain a Food Handlers Management certificationStrong customer service skills that showcase a positive and enthusiastic approach to customers so as to convey a positive image and respond to clients in a timely mannerStrong attention to detail while being able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment1-3 years of ticket sales experience (including internship experience)Ability to learn new strategies, skills, and programsNight and weekend work is required, including working special events such as concerts and stadium rentalsSalary and Compensation
