Job Summary

Under the direction of the Administrative Director, Maintenance, Operations, & Transportation, drive a school bus to transport students safely and efficiently to assigned locations along designated routes; assure safety of vehicle by performing daily safety inspections and cleaning duties.

Requirements / Qualifications

The following documents must be included in the application:1) Cover Letter2) Resume3) Minimum of two Professional Letters of Recommendation dated within the last 2 years (must include name, address, phone number, signature & email.)4) Valid California Class B commercial driver's license with passenger and air brake endorsements.5) Valid California School Bus Driver Certificate.6) Valid First Aid and CPR Certification issued by an authorized agency.7) Current DMV Report. (formerly known as H-6)

Must pass DOT Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment screening.

Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and three years of experience driving a motor vehicle with one year driving a public bus.

Comments and Other Information

Work Schedule: 5.0 hours per day, 5 days per week, 9.5 months per year

Sick leave and vacation are earned on a prorated basis at a rate of one day per month. A District insurance policy for hospitalization, major medical, dental, vision, and life is offered. School employees must join the State School Employees Retirement System.

California School Employees Association Agreement (CSEA), Article VI, 6.1.3 states: "Voluntary transfer/promotion requests by an employee for any opening shall be given prior consideration over a new employee. Article VI, 6.3.2 states: "When a new position is created or an existing position becomes vacant, the District shall first offer the opportunity to transfer or to seek promotion to bargaining unit employees."
