The Attorney Recruiting and DEI specialist will be responsible for managing the daily attorney recruiting and diversity processes for the Firm. This position will recruit attorney candidates, supporting a variety of Practice Groups, and support the Firm’s DEI efforts, collaborating closely with the Practice Group Chairs and Firm Leadership to align and implement the Firm's strategic plans in both areas. The employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive materials and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position. This role requires someone with excellent planning, organization, and communication skills.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Oversee and coordinate activities to implement the Firm’s strategic goals related to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, working closely with the Firm’s DEI Committee.Lead diversity efforts related to law student and lateral attorney recruiting.Manage the DEI calendars and meetings, including conference room details, technology set up and catering.Coordinate and plan DEI events.Ownership of follow up on actions from events and meetings.Draft summary reports on progress and accomplishments, and measure outcomes.Assist with monitoring budget and requests for funding.Attorney Recruiting

Collaborate with Practice Group Chairs, the Recruiting Partner and Firm Leadership to ensure a cohesive and consistent attorney recruiting process and strategy.Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media, etc.Assist in reviewing incoming entry-level and lateral candidate applications; helping to coordinate aspects of entry-level and lateral hiring, and scheduling interviews with candidates and lawyers.Maintain and develop relationships with recruiting agencies.Maintain the applicant tracking system and generate reports; field daily recruiting/legal personnel questions.Draft and review offer letters.Manage recruiting policies, programs, and materials to ensure information is up to date and aligns with best practices and Firm strategy.Promote a diverse and inclusive recruiting process to ensure all candidates have a positive experience that aligns with Firm values.Assist with onboarding and training initiatives for lateral associates.Summer Associate Recruiting & Programming

Support our campus interview programs and relationships with law school placement offices.Coordinate the Firm’s evaluation and selection of candidates.Organize law student outreach activities and coordinate with Firm lawyers.Collaborate with Summer Associate Partner to ensure the Summer Associates will experience a successful onboarding and training program.Actively connect and engage with the Summer Associates who will be transitioning into full-time in the fall and assist with the onboarding process.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree in a professional discipline required.3-5 years’ experience in attorney recruiting and/or diversity, equity and inclusion programming and processes, preferably in a professional services environment.Superior interpersonal, written and communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively, professionally, courteously, and confidently with candidates, partners, recruiters and all levels of Firm personnel.Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team setting.Ability to drive results with a sense of urgency and meet competing deadlines.Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and Adobe Acrobat; experience with VI Desktop/applicant tracking systems/SharePoint and/or ability to learn new software programs.WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment.This role offers flexibility and the ability to work both remotely (2 days) and at our Chicago office (3 days).Limited physical effort required and very limited exposure to physical risk.Disclaimer:
