The Guidehouse Energy, Sustainability, & Infrastructure (ES&I) team provides strategic, management, and policy consulting to clients across the energy value chain that aim to support and finance the energy transition. Our team works with utility clients in the South, Mid-Atlantic, and Central region of the US to deliver the next generation of solutions for a decarbonized and resilient energy future. We combine our managing consulting, project management, client engagement, market knowledge, and years of experience working with utilities with strategic perspectives on energy transformation.
What You Will Do
The Energy Transformation Project Management Consultant will help to manage projects for our clients to strategize, plan, implement, and evaluate transformational initiatives. Energy Transformation Projects may include infrastructure resiliency and reliability design, grid modernization, customer-centric solutions for clean energy programs, climate risks and resilience planning, and data-driven mobility strategy. In this role you will learn, be challenged, and develop skills you need to succeed. We are looking for an experience utilities management consultant with passion for creative problem solving, client service, and project management who is interested in growing their expertise and industry relationships.
Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
Leading your team in creative problem solving and outcome driven solutions for clientsManaging teams to provide detailed fact finding, research, and analysis on energy-related activitiesPerforming, advising, and reviewing technology assessments, statistical analyses, and economic analysesFacilitating meetings and working sessions between client departments and organizations to lead discussions, form relationships and facilitate consensus-buildingCommunicating solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentationsOrganizing and preparing reports, presentations, and other documents for client deliverablesWorking effectively with colleagues and client staff as part of a project team, delegating work and managing colleagues as needed; work independently as needed
What You Will Need
US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident status (due to the nature of client engagements)Bachelor’s degree and 7 plus years of relevant industry or consulting experience (excluding internships/coops, or fellowships); Or Master’s degree and 5 plus years of relevant industry or consulting experience (excluding internships/coops, or fellowships)Consulting or management consulting experience within the utilities industry excluding Oil &GasDemonstrated experience leading teams, including advanced organizational and project management skillsA high level of understanding of utility grid modernization, electric transmission and distribution infrastructure planning, and asset managementExcellent verbal and written communication skillsClient service orientationExperienced in developing and delivering presentations to executive audiencesOutstanding analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency with data analyticsAn inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvementTireless attention to detail in all prior experience (academic and professional)Superior interpersonal skillsAbility to collaborate as a part of team, as well as to work independentlyAbility to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlinesAbility to travel as neededMust currently reside or ability to relocate, at own expense, in the South or Mid-Atlantic US region (key Guidehouse offices in Atlanta, GA and Washington, DC Metro area) within reasonable driving distance of a Guidehouse Office or Client Office
