Job Description

The Senior Technical Sales Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within a functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.Lead the team in all aspects of account growth including strategy development, integrated account planning, opportunity identification, and value communication for assigned business vertical(s).Define entitlement and identify areas to penetrate and grow profitabilityInterface directly with the marketing organization to drive high value solutions leveraging the company portfolioServe as a conduit for solutions detailed understanding of customer's business model and how company's products and services develop and deliver added value to the customerBuild customer relationships and communication at all levelsDrive Value and TCO at the customer's sites with key focus on deepening customer relationships and direct demand generationMatrix with existing functional and P&L teams to achieve growth objectivesStructure, price, negotiate and close dealsSuccessfully interface with cross-functional teams as requiredQualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical), Biology, or Chemistry, or in any related discipline from an accredited college or university along with at least 5 years of experience in a technical sales position in the Industrial Water Treatment/Water Process industryAt least 5 additional years of experience in direct technical sales (Water Treatment / Water Process Industry) in the specific industry vertical as assigned.Eligibility Requirements:

Ability and willingness to travel within territory and across continental US, as requiredAbility and willingness to reside in assigned region, or within customer proximity requirements, as requiredWork frequently in a heavy industrial environment requiring use of Personal Safety Equipment and exposure to noise, dust, chemicals and other similar irritants typical of those found in refinery, chemical plants, power plants, manufacturing and /or commercial facilities, etc., as requiredAbility and willingness to comply with stringent drug testing and background check requirements set by customer safety requirements, as requiredAbility and willingness to comply with stringent customer site(s) access requirements, as requiredProficient Computer Skills including MS Office, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and other software programs within a Windows environmentTo the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a company owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record.Desired Characteristics:

Solid steel industry experience in business development or building growth plans is preferredDemonstrated track record of technical sales in the relevant industry verticalAble to develop and maintain customer relationships at all levels, including the CEO staff levelStrategic or product marketing exposureCustomer-centric mindset, able to translate customer issues/needs into profitable business solutionsAble to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external customersStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsEstablished program management ability
