Job Description:The Construction Project Engineer is responsible for administrating construction processes for Levco Construction, the construction arm of Levco Management, a fully integrated multifamily real estate investment and management firm. This individual will be responsible for working alongside construction teams with developing scopes of work, developing, reviewing, and analyzing construction drawings, managing construction documents, and managing subcontractor and supplier bid processes.
QualificationsBachelor's Degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline.Minimum 3 years' experience in construction estimating, pre-construction, and/or construction project administration. Experience with multifamily projects is strongly preferred.Ability to generate high quality scopes of work, estimates, and RFPs for bid processes.High level of fluency interpreting plans, specifications, permit applications, construction proposals, contracts, and other related project documents.Strong experience with utilizing a variety of estimating and project management software.Strong experience with AutoCAD and ability to develop basic construction drawings from scratch.Proven ability to read, interpret and track budgets; manage the accuracy and approval of vendor quotes and invoices.Ability to lead the pre-construction process and develop accurate scheduling and estimating in coordination with other project managers and stakeholders.Ability to meet firm deadlines.Highly advanced computer (Excel, Word, Outlook), writing, mathematical, and organizational skills.Valid driver's license (required), as well as reliable daily transportation.ResponsibilitiesVisit job sites to review existing conditions, prepare estimates, and meet with subcontractors, vendors, and labor crews.Develop bid scopes and RFPs, vet subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance and ability to perform on each project.Prepare and review all estimates, proposals, scopes of work, and initial project documents for completeness and accuracy.Administer the subcontractor and vendor contract negotiation processes.Work with accounting and finance department to ensure proper vendor credit availability on each project, in addition to communicating subcontractor payment terms to best manage project finances.Develop preliminary construction scheduling in coordination with other managers and stakeholders.Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships and communication with the project team, property management, consultants/architect/engineers, subcontractors, neighbors, governmental agencies.Setup new projects into the pre-construction cycle on all estimating and project management software.Conduct team meetings, coordination meetings, and budget reviews.Present job cost, scheduling updates, and budget updates at regular intervals.Regular daily travel and occasional overnight travel required, based on project needs.Any other duties assigned by your supervisor(s).Levco Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
