The role of the Senior Project Manager is to plan, execute, and deliver complex projects according to strict deadlines and within budget while delivering project objectives. This includes planning, executing, and controlling project management activities including scope management, requirements management, communication management, issue and risk management, and budget and resource management, internally & externally. This role also requires close work with senior management, steering committees, and other project managers to steer projects and business organizations toward achieving intended business results.
Responsibilities:
Direct, manage and implement multiple, simultaneous, complex projects from beginning to endWork on and/or responsible for a significant number of cross-functional and highly complex business analysis, project management and general management tasksDefine and document project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholdersManage the identification, resolution and escalation of project risks and issuesIdentify and manage project dependencies and critical pathsCreate project-based communications (i.e., minutes, status, informational materials) and distribute information as appropriateDrive definition of next steps and solutions with other PMs, IT, business owners and management when issues ariseSet and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.Personally and proactively deliver difficult/urgent/controversial messages to key stakeholders before mass communication is distributedCoach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.Adhere and drive adherence to NetSpend methodology and key deliverables for prioritization and code releasesDevelop and sustain cooperative working relationships with immediate team membersDevelop and sustain a network of working relationships outside of immediate team members with thought-leaders in the companyLead proactively and passionately while practicing and fostering respectful interaction, transparency and accountabilityIdentify personal career goals and work with management to achieve them.Manages projects with a span of influence across multiple segments, and/or across a few corporate shared service resources, such as Software Development, Information Security, IT Development, Customer Service, and/or Training, etc.Generally works across internal functional areas and/or works with external stakeholdersConducts resource planning, budget development and change control in order to deliver the planned projectGenerates ideas on how methodology could be improved and drives implementation of changesMay be responsible (depending on project structure) for presenting the project and status to the internal and/or external Steering Committee
Expected Areas of Competence:
Project Management experience using agile methodologyExpert level capability and understanding of project management and planningExpert facilitation, collaboration, communication and presentation skillsExpert ability to influence and motivate othersExpert customer focus, organizational agility and drive for resultsExpert ability to train others on utilizing standard and newly created processesExcellent analytical skillsExperience managing and delivering multiple, simultaneous, complex projectsExperience operating in a fast paced, rapidly changing environmentComfortable wearing many hats and allowing the job description to fluctuate when neededProficient with Google Suite.Experience working with external parties (ex: partners, vendors, customers, contractors, etc.)
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology preferred3-5 years of experience managing and successfully delivering mission critical projectsKnowledge of the financial services industry is a plus
