The OpportunityOur US Natural Gas Pipeline team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in Houston, TX to support the USGP Programs team.The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for leading the execution of Capital Projects to accomplish stated Company objectives. The Project Manager will utilize project management experience and technical knowledge to drive collaborative and strategic planning, project team development and proactive stakeholder engagement to maximize benefit, minimize cost and reduce risks.

What You’ll DoManage project lifecycle activities including scope definition, budget, schedule, execution, and reporting functions in accordance with TC Energy’s Project Delivery Standard.Maintain a high level of focus on health, quality, safety, and environment. Actively lead a positive safety culture to ensure incident and injury free project.Ensure close and effective coordination with all internal stakeholder groups, including environment, regulatory, land, operations, engineering, legal, and quality among others.Ensure development of appropriate Project Execution Plan including strategies for both the development and implementation phases of the project.Provide input to and support regulatory application and permits specific to facilities and pipeline portfolio.Ensure Contractor performance is monitored and measured against contract terms and conditions.Manage costs and manpower to drive execution efficiencies, leveraging network and lessons learned to achieve goals.Collaborate with Engineering, the Construction Management Team, and Operations to ensure a smooth transition through commissioning, start-up and operation.Review and analyze proposal documents, codes, regulations, and laws to ensure conformance to project deliverables and requirements.Ensure the project is being constructed in compliance with required engineering documents, design standards and specifications; and all applicable permit and environmental requirements.Ensure risks are being tracked and evaluated throughout the project life cycle.Ensure completion of project deliverables on time, on budget and within scope.Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's project management tools and processes.Travel required for this position. During construction months, more frequent travel is required.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management.Minimum 4 years industry experience in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management.Strong leadership skills; ability to create a vision, clearly communicate direction and drive to goal completion.Knowledge of engineering design standards and applicable natural gas industry codes and regulations must stay current on technology, industry standards and material.Team development skills with change management experience.Applicable gas industry regulatory experience (working knowledge of federal regulatory knowledge, state regulatory knowledge and natural gas market knowledge).Ability to read and understand technical documents including legal contracts and information on new management concepts and new technology.Demonstrates the ability to influence individuals to accomplish objectives without direct reporting relationships.Process development skills with a demonstrated ability to shape and continuously improve business processes.Skilled in the areas of team facilitation, collaboration, negotiation and influencing, process mapping, problem solving and creative solutions.Analytical, communication, facilitation and negotiation skills are needed.Be curious, be inquisitive – be an Energy Problem Solver.

Preferred QualificationsNatural gas pipeline industry experience is preferred.Project Management Certification (PMP).Ability to manage simultaneous projects at all phases of project lifecycle.Ability to recognize, evaluate, and communicate risks.Integrity project experience.Knowledge of FERC process a plus.
