Summary:

The Marin City Health and Wellness Center (MCHWC) is searching for a knowledgeable, Grant Writer to provide full life cycle editing and writing support for local grant submissions, including managing timelines and project milestones, collecting figures, and information from various sources, editing documents and coordinating with multiple stakeholders involved in the submission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists with determining proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs.Identifies, researches, complies and evaluates data sources and background information in specialty areas.Plans prepares, and writes highly competitive, technical, and complex local grant proposals and applications.Resolves complex, technical and administrative problems associated with developing proposals.Research funding sources, prepare and submit letters of intent and full grant proposals and budgets to secure new donors and renew existing donors.Gather necessary information to ensure proposals and reports are comprehensive and compelling.Maintain institutional Development Calendar to ensure all grant reporting requirements are fulfilled in a comprehensive and timely manner.Work with staff to identify fundable programmatic initiatives.Qualification Requirements:

Edit highly technical documents under tight deadlines.Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in writing.3 + years' experience in writing grants.Administrative and or Development background.Strong communication and active listening skills.Three years of relevant professional experience, preferably in grant writing and persuasive communications with a non- profit or foundation.Exceptional ability to collaborate, communicate and execute across functions and all levels of employees and stakeholders.Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.3-5 years' experience in development with a proven track record.Experience writing grants for medical institutions is highly desirable.Language Skill:

Excellent customer service and communication skillsStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsReasoning ability:

Ability to recognize problems, collect data, and establish factsAbility to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures

Equipment/Machinery: Fax machine, copier, personal computer, telephone, calculator, Microsoft Word/Excel, EHR system and other software as required.

Lifting/carrying less than 10 pounds frequently.Vision requirements: constant need to complete forms, read reports, view computer screen. Frequent need to see small detail. Frequent need to see things clearly beyond arm's reach.Hearing requirements: constant need to communicate over telephone and in person.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Must be willing to travel locally between Clinic locations. May be an occasional need to travel for training or events.
