Dispatcher/School Bus Driver Trainer

Under the direction of the Manager, Transportation, to assist with the routing and dispatching ofbus drivers; to train school bus drivers, including classroom work and behind the wheelinstruction; and to drive a school bus when a regular or substitute bus driver is unavailable.
An employee assigned to a position in this job classification performs duties that require assistingthe Manager, Transportation, in routing and dispatching bus drivers, training school bus drivers,as well as driving school bus as necessary. The employee may also perform relief duties for theManager, Transportation, in the latter's absence.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and three to five years of recentschool bus driving experience following a prescribed route, preferably including experience interacting with students that have special needs; experience establishing bus routes; and training school bus drivers, including classroom work and behind the wheel instruction.LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMETS:Valid California Class B commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement and a school bus endorsement; valid DMV School Bus Driver's Certificate; valid California Bus Driver Instructor Certificate, California Special Driver's Certificate, valid for driving school buses; current DMV approved Medical Certificate; and a current DOE approved First Aid card if applicable (i.e. Restriction 6 on Special Driver's Certificate).
