Description

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Air Testing

ROLES/RESPONSIBILTIES:

Schedules work assignments.Reviews daily employee work performance and results.Reviews timecards as needed.Facilitates hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations within Laboratory guidelines.Management of lab staff direct reports including completion of performance feedback, reviews, disciplinary action and timecard administration.Ensure testing is initiated and performed in a timely manner and adhering to quality standards.Draft protocols and coordinate with laboratory manager to conduct investigations and special studies as needed.Draft and edit SOPs as needed.Approve CoAs as needed.Conduct and/or approve method suitability as needed.Adhere to SOPs and regulatory requirements such as GMPs, GDPs, GLPs and OSHA regulations.

Perform microbiological testing and method validation.Receive, and release media, buffers, and microorganism cultures.Update and review microbiological trends.Compose, update, and review procedures and training materials.Sanitize the laboratory incubators and refrigerator.Maintain and coordinate equipment / instrumentation maintenance, calibration, and repair work.Clean and sanitize the microbiology laboratory rooms surfaces and equipment.This job description does not represent an inclusive list of all duties encompassed in this position, but rather serves as a tool to assist the Associates in this position. Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Microbiology, or related scientific field or equivalent experience, bachelor's degree is a plus.Prior supervisor experience preferred.Experience in a pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory, combined laboratory and pharmaceutical quality experience will be considered (graduate degree may be considered as contribution to experience).Knowledge of cGMP/GLP/GDP, USP, FDA, ISO regulatory requirements.JOB PREREQUISITES:

Ability to multi-taskAbility to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding.Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills.Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy.Works well meeting multiple deadlines with the ability to deliver on time.Able to travel out of town if necessary.
