Social Services Director

Pay Range : $96,000/year up to $113,000/year depending upon experience and qualifications
To ensure the standards for Social Services are being maintained in all Salvation Army service centers in the Massachusetts Division.
Duties include but are not limited to: providing supervision to a team of seven direct reports and a total department of ten employees, ensure that all Salvation Army units in Massachusetts are in compliance with the National Social Service standards, work closely with corps officers (pastor/local business manager) in the selection and development of social ministries staff and programs, collect and review monthly program statistics, advocate on behalf of The Salvation Army and clientele to elected and administrative public officials, maintain current profiles of all social ministries’ programs in the Division to include the social service programs that are in place, employees & credentials, budget/grant information, statistical profile, and any other pertinent information, develop and monitor department budgets, and develop relationships with other Social Services professionals in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s Degree required in Social Work
Licensed Social Worker preferred
At least 7 years of progressive management in social services with management experience for multiple programs, licensed childcare programs, and shelter programs
Must understand and have an appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local juvenile policies, programs, and youth development
Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
Ability to build relationships in the communities where there is need
Experience with the business principles of Accounting/Budgets, HR, and Marketing
Will be required to work nights/weekends as needed
