Volunteer Advocacy Teams Local Leader
Join with others across the country working on federal peace and justice legislation as a grassroots advocate!
The Advocacy Teams Network is made up of more than 1,500 individuals from across the country who use their power as constituents to make change in Washington. Our success comes from our commitment to building relationships with Congress grounded in mutual respect and listening.
We are seeking to connect with engaged individuals based in the United States hoping to make a difference on peace and justice legislation in Congress!
FCNL will help local volunteers build a local team of advocates united by our shared values and vision for the world we seek. Activities will include:
Fostering a team of advocates in your community Building an ongoing relationship with your members of Congress and their staff through regular lobby visits Writing letters to the editor Engaging with local media
Each year, the Advocacy Teams network lobbies on federal legislation related to peace and foreign policy. We welcome you to join us this year as our network of 130+ teams across 45 states call on Congress to Invest in Peace through funding three critical conflict prevention and peacebuilding funds. We use an intersectional lens to bring peace and justice to the forefront of the national conversation.

We welcome volunteers of all ages, faiths, and levels of ability. Our program operates in the United States. Volunteers are asked to work out of FCNL's values of deep listening, mutual respect, and nonviolence. We meet both policymakers and advocates where they are and seek opportunities to work together. We pursue legislative policies informed by our belief that there is that of God in every person and that all creation has worth and dignity.

FCNL's multi-faceted approach draws on the expertise of registered lobbyists in Washington, D.C., the commitment and passion of people around the country in our advocacy network, and the relationships we cultivate with elected officials and community leaders.
Grounded by faith and morality, we combine a pragmatic and results-driven strategy with a clear-eyed, ambitious vision of the world we seek.
