This individual serves as a technical resource to the Technology Development Group within the Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology organization. The focus of this team is to create robust and scalable world-class products, using modern frameworks and technologies, and to support the technical needs of the Business Operations group.This individual is responsible for direct technical contribution to projects within the team and assisting with ongoing investigations of technologies affecting Disney’s industries. Experience in the fields of native application development, API integration, user experience design, version control, and continuous integration is desired.Responsibilities Design prototypes and tools supporting Disney Entertainment & ESPN TechnologyResponsible for researching best approaches and architectures to solve interesting and unique problems facing Disney’s businesses.Identify elegant solutions to complex and unique problemsBasic Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field5+ years of experience in technical fieldsHands-on experience with machine learning methods and techniquesExperience building and maintaining production-grade softwareExperience with effective API integration and designDemonstrated ownership and responsibility of the development, implementation, and release of the software lifecycleCuriosity and a desire to learnExcellent technical communication skills and attention to detailPreferred Qualifications:Experience with audio/video processing and analysisDemonstrated expertise in data and root-cause analysisHands-on experience with AWS services like Kinesis, MSF, Dynamo, ElastiCache, Lambda, S3, ECSExperience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormationExperience with monitoring tools like Cloudwatch and DatadogKnowledge of data products and platforms, including Spark, Parquet, Athena, Databricks#DisneyTechThe hiring range for this position in Glendale, California and Seattle, Washington is $136,100 - $182,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
