If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.As a Structures Lead for Chassis Mechanical, you will lead the design of components that control lateral, longitudinal, and vertical control of world leading electric vehicles. You will engage with attribute groups and other system owners to guide premier suspension structures from concept to production. ResponsibilitiesManage a team of engineers in the design and development of suspension structure components (i.e. control arms, knuckles, subframes) from initial concept to productionEnsure that component designs satisfy requirements to deliver the desired vehicle attributesDesign with excellence at system and component level, with great attention to every detail. Provide technical support to guide your team to do the same.Work closely with both internal teams and externals suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possibleLead a team in root cause analysis and issue resolutionCoordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designsManage multiple complex projects in a demanding environmentQualifications5+ years of automotive industry experience, mostly focused on chassis mechanical designExperience personally and directly designing components from concept to productionDesign release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experienceExperience managing or leading other design engineers.Hands-on practical experience in prototype assemblyExperience in technology, system, and supplier selectionProven 3D CAD, project leadership, and mentoring skillsTravel domestically and internationally up to 20% if neededAdvantageous10+ years of automotive industry experienceExperience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, NVH, and vehicle crash safety principlesAbility to run and teach others to use CAE analysis toolsExperience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theoryEducationBS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical EngineeringSalary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
